Olive Oil in the Kitchen

Probably the most common use of olive oil is in cooking. Olive oil has been used in the kitchen for thousands of years. It is used as an ingredient in sauces, marinades, and salad dressings. Extra virgin olive oil is also good as a salad dressing or a condiment. It is also used for deep-frying, stir-frying, browning, and sautéing. It is also a preservative. Foods such as fish, hot pepper sauces, tomato sauces, and a variety of vegetables use olive oil as a preservative.

Olive oil is useful in the kitchen as a lubricant as well. Small kitchen appliances such as blenders and grinders as well as other cookware can easily and safely be lubricated with olive oil naturally.

As an alternative to olive oil in the kitchen can be used safflower oil, macadamia oil, flaxseed oil and vegetable oil.
